Breaking your own trail through ungroomed snow, Ski Touring through remote backcountry mountain areas, experience the solitude and spectacular scenery. Using skins on your skis rather than a lift to ascend to high places you ski uphill aswell as down. You will 'earn our turns', under your own power ski-touring requires more effort than Heli or Cat skiing but satisfaction gained is immense. Our Ski touring holidays are led by experienced, fully qualified mountain guides. On some holidays there are self-guided options for suitably qualified & equipped skiers.
On multi-day high traverses we stay in mountain huts, moving from hut to hut and carrying gear with us. On day tours we'll make use of lodges, apartments or hotels. Choice of gear (skis, boots and bindings)tends to be optional. Some holidays may require Alpine Touring (randonnée) equipment on others Nordic gear, requiring a telemark turn, on a few boarders on splitboards are welcome. |
